NEW DELHI -- A week ahead of the Bihar State Elections, an FIR has been registered against Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah for calling Lalu Prasad Yadav a "chara chor" (fodder thief), eluding to the Fodder Scam in which he was convicted for corruption, while addressing BJP workers in Bihar on September 30.
Additional Chief Election Officer R Lakshamanan said that Shah's "chara chor" comment on Yadav violated the Model Code of Conduct, which is in force for Bihar polls, and the FIR was registered against him for violating Representation of Peoples Act and relevant sections of IPC, Press Trust of India reported on Tuesday.
PTI also reported that Yadav has been booked for for calling his 'Narbhakshi' (cannibal) comment against BJP President Amit Shah.
