You've got to hand it to Sushant Singh Rajput. The 29-year-old TV heartthrob, only four Hindi films old, has had quite the dream start to his career, with big films such as M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Shekhar Kapur's long-awaited magnum opus Paani on his plate right now.

It also seems like he has managed to keep his head above water, largely unfazed by the prospect of giddy super-stardom, and has everything charted out neatly in his head. In a candid interview to Mumbai Mirror, Rajput spoke about his plans of getting married to long-time girlfriend Ankita Lokhande by the end of 2016, after he is done with his ongoing professional commitments.

He has no qualms about how it may or may not affect his career either. "I was told that if I get married, I will lose my female fan following. If that happens, I will quit acting," he told Mirror.

Young actors in the industry usually can't afford to be choosy. The lure of money is easy and the idea of continually having releases so as to maintain your popularity is difficult to ignore or just set aside. However, Rajput doesn't seem like he's interested in playing by these rules.

So, in order to ensure that he only continues to do the roles that excite him, he will also be turning businessman by being part of a "series of start-ups" with his seniors from Delhi College Of Engineering, where Rajput studied mechanical engineering for nearly four years before dropping out and moving to Mumbai.

Not only will these start-ups make him the money he needs to be financially secure so he doesn't need to sign films left, right, and centre to stay afloat, but they also seem to focus on things he is passionate about. One of those start-ups, which he admitted won't make much money initially, is dedicated to providing scholarships to bright students from all across India and is slated to roll next year.

"I want to be proud of every film I do, pick and choose my roles with care. These start-ups will give me the extra confidence to do so. If you are in the rat race, you will always be a rat," he told Mirror.
