Will JDU Leader's Viral Pole-Dance Video Give Nitish A Fever?

Will JDU Leader's Viral Pole-Dance Video Give Nitish A Fever?

NEW DELHI -- This will certainly displease chief-minister aspirant, Nitish Kumar. While he may be harried devising strategies to blunt Modi's popularity in the run-up to the Bihar polls this month, a video of Abhay Kushwaha, his party man from Gaya, gyrating with abandon--with a dancer's pole to boot--is doing the rounds of social media networks.

In the video, that was first uploaded by India Today , the JD(U) leader is seen showering money on a dancer and cheered on by the crowd present.

On Tuesday, an FIR was filed against RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for allegedly making casteist remarks, while BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi was booked for allegedly promising to give away laptops, colour TVs and dhoti-saris to voters.

In socially-conservative Bihar, aspirant MLA's and pole dancers don't constitute an acceptable public image and also leaves candidates open to charges of inducing voters with cash, freebies and entertainment, all forbidden by the Electoral Code of Conduct.

As far as Kushwaha's pole-dancing skills go, we must say it is bang on. Well, nearly. At least, till he decides that the pole may also act like a merry-go-around found in parks.
