NEW DELHI-- Sometimes, the sting in the tale lies in the lace.
A 34-year-old corporate lawyer has been arrested for allegedly taking obscene pictures of women with a spy cam fitted to one of his shoes at a prominent South Delhi mall.
He is the son of a former president of consumer forum in Haryana and was caught by security guards who found a spy camera between the lace of the man's right shoe in video-recording mode. "We found around 10 obscene videos on the camera, which were recorded by him when he was roaming inside the store,” manager Sunil Arora told Indian Express.
According to reports, a store manager at DLF Place spotted the man moving suspiciously around women, especially those wearing mini skirts and short dresses. He kept standing next to the women who were shopping there, while advancing his right foot.
On the basis of Arora’s complaint, a case was registered under sections 354-C (watching or capturing an image of a woman engaging in a private act in circumstances where she would usually have the explanation of not being observed either by the perpetrator or by any other person at the behest of the perpetrator) and 354-D (stalking) of the IPC at Saket police station, DCP (South) Prem Nath said.
Sharma was arrested and later released on bail.
Police, who've confiscated the lawyer's mobile phone and laptop, recovered around 12 suspicious clips from his possession but they've yet to determine whether he stored the clips for himself or uploaded over internet sites.
During interrogation, the lawyer disclosed that he conceived the idea from popular sites and later purchased the spy cam from an online portal.
