Mumbai Local Train Derailed; No Injuries Or Casualties Reported

Seven coaches of a local train in Mumbai from Andheri to Churchgate derailed between Vile Parle and Andheri stations on Tuesday at around 11 am. While no casualties or injuries have been reported, traffic in the western suburbs of India's financial capital was severely disrupted.

"A team of engineers and rescue officials have rushed to the spot to restore the services," said Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Western Railway, Sharat Chandrayan, " and an inquiry would be conducted to ascertain the cause of the derailment."

Incidentally, three coaches of a local train were derailed near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) during rush hour on Monday evening.
