Siddhartha Das, purportedly the first 'husband' of Indrani Mukerjea has said Sheena and Mikhail were his children and he'd never been married to Indrani.
"I am ready to go for a DNA test to prove that I am the biological father of both children," Siddhartha Das told Times Now. He added that he'd been living in Kolkata since 1998 and had never been in touch with his children. The discovery of Das could further strengthen the Mumbai's police's attempt to nail Indrani Mukerjea, former CEO of NewsX and wife of high-profile ex-TV executive, Peter Mukerjea.
Sheena Bora was known as Indrani's sister until last week, when the The Telegraph first reported she may have actually been her daughter. This disclosure last Tuesday was the tipping point in an avalanche of media interest in the death of Sheena Bora, who's been missing since 2012.
As matters now stand, Sheena Bora was allegedly killed by a trio of her mother, her step-father Sanjeev Khanna and a driver on April 24, 2012. The three are accused of strangling her in a hired car, burning the body and dumping it in Raigad, 84 km from Mumbai.
NDTV reports that Ms Mukerjea has "insisted to the police" that she hated her daughter, whom she introduced to the world as her sister, but did not kill her.
To be sure, the police are yet to file a formal chargesheet against Indrani and co-accused conspirators in the murder and her alleged complicity rests entirely on police-interrogation details leaked to the media.
