21 Teachers Booked In UP For Submitting Fake Education Documents

FAIZABAD -- A total of 21 teachers of government primary schools in Balrampur district of eastern Uttar Pradesh were on Saturday booked after their marksheets and educational certificates were found to be fake, officials said.

The case against these 21 teachers were registered today in Balrampur city Kotwali police station on the complaint of district Basic Shishka Adhikar (BSA) Jai Singh, police said.

According to the BSA, in 2011, 1,700 teachers were recruited in the district. After getting information about the testimonials of 21 teachers, a probe was launched and during investigations their certificates were found to be fake.

The case has been booked under Sections 419 (cheating by impersonation), 420 (cheating) and 467 (forgery) of IPC, SHO Srinath Yadav said.
