A wave of excitement is sweeping the country, even as the stage is being set for the 69th Independence Day celebrations.

As the country readies itself for tomorrow, different cities are witnessing a flurry of activities, the most colourful being the final dress rehearsals before the big event.

This year, a bullet-proof enclosure has been specially constructed in Delhi's Red Fort for Prime Minister Narendra Modi from where he will deliver his speech. A five-tier security cordon has also been put in place around the monument for the official unfurling of the Tricolour by the Prime Minister and his address to the nation.

As many as 200 specially trained NSG, SWAT and BSF commandos will be in position in a 500-metre radius from the ramparts of the fort. The commandos will be equipped with fully automatic Beretta assault rifles, high-tech communication gadgets, body armour, protective helmets, knee pads and gloves.
