Watch The 96 Year Old Indian Air Force Marshal Pay His Last Respects To Dr Kalam

NEW DELHI -- In a touching tribute to late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the 96-year-old Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh, who is wheelchair-bound, stood up to pay his last respects to the former Indian President.

On Tuesday, Singh joined the many dignitaries who had arrived at Palam airport to lay a wreath at the base of the coffin carrying the mortal remains of Dr. Kalam.

The aged Marshal arrived in full uniform, slowly walking from his wheelchair with the aid of a stick and an IAF officer to where Dr. Kalam's coffin lay. He gave a short, dignified salute before slowly walking away.

Singh is the only officer of the Indian Air Force to be promoted to five-star rank and he has held the post of Marshal of the Indian Air Force since 2002.
