The three gunmen, who attacked the Dinanagar police station in Punjab's Gurdaspur district on Monday morning, were caught by a CCTV camera at 4:55 a.m. before they entered the town which borders Pakistan.

The CCTV camera, placed near a shop at Taragarh intersection in Dinanagar area, captured the three men walking on the road, dressed in army fatigues, and carrying AK 47 assault rifles.

The suspected terrorists seized a Maruti car before heading to the police station, where they dug in for over 10 hours. Kamaljit Singh, the car owner, said they pulled him out of his vehicle and threw him on the road, PTI reported.

Seven people including a senior police officer Baljeet Singh were killed in the operation mounted to eliminate the three gunmen.

The Punjab police has also revealed that they were carrying enough ammunition to fire in bursts for at least 48 hours, The Times of India reported. Three AK-47s and 19 magazines, each loaded with 24 rounds of fire, were recovered from the scene after the gunmen were killed.
