Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan sang the Indian National Anthem to kick-off the second season of the Pro-Kabaddi League. Clad in a simple white kurta-pyjama ensemble with a black waistcoat, the 72-year-old delivered a performance that possibly outdid every other rendition of the song (remember Shreya Ghoshal's version, and this popular version by different artists).
Including his own version sung for Republic Day, earlier this year.
This glamorous start to the Pro-Kabaddi league also drew other celebrities such as Aamir Khan, Rishi Kapoor, and Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh. Big B's rich baritone added another dimension to the anthem.
The excited superstar had initially shared his feelings on social media, saying that he was honoured to be chosen:
Big B also tweeted out the link to the video as well as a link to the event on Facebook....

His Facebook status had a touching message saying that this was a moment he would remember all his life.
The second season of the eight-team league, in Mumbai at the NSCI Stadium, saw last year's runner-ups U Mumba taking on Jaipur Pink Panthers, who were last years champions.
