Kiran Bedi Says Chanting By Thousands On Yoga Day Brought Rains To Delhi

India's First Woman Police Officer Thinks Yoga Chant By Thousands Brought Rains To Delhi
Twitter

NEW DELHI — BJP leader and the first woman to join the Indian Police Service, Kiran Bedi, clearly overestimates the power of yoga. Bedi tweeted on Sunday that the mass outdoor yoga session on International Yoga Day is what brought welcome morning showers to the parched national capital.

Miracle of collective chant of Shanti,Shanti,Shanti, by millions brings pre-monsoon showers in Delhi.Reduces heat and cools even the trees

On Sunday, moments after Prime Minister Narendra Modi left Rajpath following a mega event in which he led nearly 37,000 yoga enthusiasts in the heart of Delhi, it began to rain.

While the met department had predicted pre-monsoon showers for the capital city, Bedi suggested that it was the yoga event which brought relief to Delhi from a severe heat spell.

Social media took notice of Bedi's tweet and began to troll her.

ZOMG YOU GUYS KIRAN BEDI JUST SOLVED GLOBAL WARMING!1!! https://t.co/9reRgcotHp

Kiran Bedi says "mass Yoga session brought rain". Genius, had you tried a little bit harder it would snow in Delhi.

In response, the BJP leader decided to block the 'trolls' on Twitter.

For me trollers can continue to express their animosity. They can do what they want to, I will do what I must. U expose yourself, I'l block!

Impressed by Modi's Yoga skills, Bedi also posted a few 'rare' pictures of the PM on Twitter.

True leader, knows the way, shows the way & goes the way..A rare picture of PM doing Yoga with all others on Rajpath pic.twitter.com/3fk8FN1VOP

Following the footsteps of the Prime Minister, Bedi also tweeted a selfie of her doing Yoga at Rajpath.

A selfie from Rajpath. Have a great Yoga day. If not here do it in your own home. Get energised. pic.twitter.com/y0qpZlCDfJ
