Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said on Sunday that he is happy to be removed from captaincy if it helps the Indian cricket team.
At the press conference following India’s first ever series defeat to Bangladesh, the 'captain cool' said, "I am always the one who is responsible for anything bad that happens in Indian cricket. Everything that happens is because of me. Even the Bangladesh media is smiling."

On his responsibility for the series loss:
When asked about how much responsibility of this series loss lies with him, he said, "I’m always the one blamed for everything wrong with Indian cricket. Maybe it is all because of me that everything is happening. If you play long enough you see the good and bad days on the field. But I am really enjoying my cricket.
Stepping aside?
When asked how long he will continue as a captain, Dhoni took a dig at the journalists. "The media loves me. If it is justifiable if you remove me and the Indian cricket will start doing well, and if I am the reason for all the bad that's happening to Indian cricket, definitely I would love to step away and play as a player," he said.
On his job as the captain:
"It doesn't really matter, who is the captain because I was never really in line to become the captain. It was a job or responsibility for me. They want to take it away from me, I am fine," he told the journalists.
Should he have dropped Rahane?
Dhoni surprised quite a few cricket fans by dropping Ajinkya Rahane for the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh. When asked about his choice, the Indian team captain said, "We all felt that he needs pace on the wicket to play well. On faster wickets he plays a lot better. Ajinkya will have to wait."
On the series loss
"This is our first series loss (against Bangladesh). Yes, it is disappointing. But it is not the end of the world," Dhoni said.
