Case Filed Against Delhi Golf Club After Cook Drowns In Pool

A case of negligence has been filed against Delhi Golf Club after a 20-year old cook who worked at the establishment was found dead on Monday night, Times of India has reported.

The victim, Rahul Soni was found at the bottom of the pool by security guards while inspecting the premises during closing time.

According to a PTI report, the police received a call at 1 AM on Tuesday that Soni had drowned. A preliminary investigation suggested no foul play, the police said. A case was filed under relevant sections of IPC at Nizamuddin police station.

According to club authorities, Soni had disregarded warnings from his coworkers about ventured alone into the pool when the lights were switched off.

The Delhi Golf Club is the city’s oldest, with a 9 hole course and an 18 hole course designed by Australian professional golfer Peter Thompson in 1976 that's a part of the Asian PGA Tour.
