Kamal Haasan, one of the most accomplished actors to have worked in Indian cinema, hasn't been seen in a Bollywood film for nearly a decade. However, according to a Mumbai Mirror report, the 60-year-old veteran is now gearing up for his first Hindi film since 2005's 'Mumbai Xpress'.
The film, titled 'Amar Hain', will also have Saif Ali Khan in a parallel lead role. Haasan, who will also reportedly direct the film, said that he has been working on the script for six years and had Khan in mind for a role right from the beginning. "It's the might of many actors which makes a film work. Saif has an important and equal role. His character is the good man so he is the hero of the film," Haasan was quoted as saying.
Calling it "an action film with lots of emotion", Haasan has said that 'Amar Hain' will be an ensemble piece "like 'The Untouchables'" that will touch upon politics, finance, and the underworld. It will reportedly be shot in Mumbai, Delhi, London, Dubai, Jordan, and parts of the US.
'Mumbai Xpress', his last Hindi-language outing, was a commercial failure.
