NEW DELHI — A stunning black and white doodle of Bollywood actress Nargis Dutt lit up Google India's homepage today. The doodle tribute was on the occasion of Dutt's 86th birth anniversary.

Dutt, the mother of actor Sanjay Dutt and the wife of veteran actor Sunil Dutt, started her big ticket acting career in 1942 with the film Tamanna although her first screen appearance was as a child in Talash-E-Haq (1935).

Famous for her luminescent beauty, Dutt ruled the silver screen between 1940s and 60s. She married her 'Mother India' co-star Sunil Dutt in 1958 and the couple were parents to three children. 'Mother India' was nominated for an Academy Award and Dutt won a Filmfare Best Actress award for her role.

Dutt passed away in 1981 after battling pancreatic cancer. Some of her memorable films include Raat Aur Din, Taqdeer, Barsaat, Andaz, Awaara, Deedar and Shree 420.
