Indian budget carrier, GoAir, today announced Wolfgang Prock-Shauer as Chief Executive Officer, after the last CEO quit citing health reasons in March.
Prock-Shauer has had prior India experience — he was the CEO of Jet Airways from 2003-2009 when the airline acquired Air Sahara and commenced international operations. Later he headed Air Berlin, the German budget airline.
The airline also said in a statement that its operating revenue rose 21 per cent in the previous fiscal on the back of a 13.2 per cent growth in passengers. That comes after a troubled 2014, when its net profit plunged 95 percent from the year before.
GoAir chairman Jeh Wadia has been managing the running of the airline since March, after previous CEO Giorgio De Roni quit after four years in the role.
