Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijan' To Release On Eid; Actor Thanks His Fans For Standing By Him

Salman Khan seems to have bounced back from his recent legal troubles quite remarkably.

Less than a fortnight after a dramatic conviction and sentence-suspension had the Hindi film industry worried about one of its biggest stars, Khan addressed a press conference at a hotel in Sonamarg, Jammu & Kashmir. He is in the state completing the shoot of his upcoming film 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', which will now reportedly release on Eid as planned.

In a video from the conference, uploaded by The Quint via ANI, Khan thanked his fans profusely for standing by him during his recent legal troubles. "I owe you guys, man," he says. "I respect and appreciate what you've done... all the prayers... many people have fasted for me as well. I don't know if I deserve it but... mil raha hai, toh sweekar kar raha hoon (since I'm getting it, I'm accepting all of it)."

Known for his charitable activities, a report in Mumbai Mirror stated that Khan had adopted a family in Kashmir, from which the youngest son has reportedly been working on the sets of 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'. "I will do whatever it takes to make a person's life better... For me politics is social work and I will continue doing that," he was quoted as saying. Responding to a query about becoming the state's official brand ambassador — for which he was approached recently, though unsuccessfully — he replied, "Why only Kashmir? I will become the brand ambassador of India."

The trailer for 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' will be released on May 21, and will also be attached to the prints of the upcoming Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns'.
