Katrina Kaif's much-awaited debut for the 68th Cannes Film Festival seem to have passed the test of discerning red carpet fashion critics. After Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor (also both ambassadors for L'oreal), the actress no doubt had some high heels to step into. But she carried it off smoothly in a stunning black Oscar de la Renta gown teamed with her new red hairdo as part of L'oreal's Indian contingent at the festival.

After checking into her suite at the Grand Hyatt Martinez on the French Riviera, she was also photographed in a figure-hugging white and black Milly ensemble with sheer panels, that were immediately tweeted out.

Here are other photos of the 'Dhoom 3' actress at the film festival (so far). Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor (both veterans of the Cannes red carpet) are yet to make their appearances felt.
