Shoojit Sircar's latest offering, 'Piku', is being universally lauded and it seems that the paying public is in complete agreement. The dramedy — starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Irrfan — released on 1300 screens across India on Friday and has done a business of Rs 25.22 crore over its opening weekend.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh called its box-office performance "phenomenal" and also added that he was "thrilled" to see "a gem" like the film do this well.

Meanwhile, the Bollywood fraternity has been going ga-ga over the film, with a number of them tweeting about their love for the film.

Director Anurag Basu ('Barfi!') loved it...

... as did Ranveer Singh (but of course he would)...

... and he totally pre-empted that allegation.

Shraddha Kapoor gushed about the film too.
