Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oneplus announced the launch of its power bank in India today. The 10,000 mAh portable power bank is priced at Rs. 1399, and features two USB ports, giving users the ability to charge two devices at the same time.

According to the manufacturer, the device uses lithium-polymer technology, and weighs 220 grams, taking six hours to charge to 100 percent. The battery indicator consists of four LED lights, which provide a visual indicator of the juice left in it every time one shakes the device.

According to OnePlus, the power bank can charge the OnePlus One smartphone, which has a 3100 mAh battery three times on a full charge. The power bank has a 1 year warranty, also comes with safety features to prevent overcharging and overheating. The OnePlus Power Bank can be used to charge tablets as well.

The device goes on sale starting today on Amazon.in for Rs 1399, and is available in two colours — silk white and sandstone black.

For smartphone users on the go, a portable power bank is a must have accessory. Xiaomi carved a niche in this segment with its affordable power banks, and other Chinese manufacturers have joined the fray too. Huawei recently launched the Honor Power Bank AP007 for Rs. 1399, exclusively on Flipkart.

Oneplus announced recently that their OnePlus One users in India will continue to receive OTA updates from Cyanogen following the withdrawal of the case by Micromax by mutual consent.

“We would like to re-assure our customers and fans in India that our flagship phone, the “OnePlus One” will continue to receive OTA updates from Cyanogen in-line with our users in markets around the world," Vikas Agarwal, General Manager - India, OnePlus wrote on the company blog.
