In a shocking display of police brutality, the head constable of Delhi traffic police, Satish Chand, hurled a brick at a woman in Delhi's Golf Links locality after she refused to pay a bribe for Rs. 200 on Monday as her children watched in horror.

Chand was discharged from service on Monday evening, TOI reported.

The video, uploaded by Focus News, also showed Chand twisting the woman's hand in front of her children. The woman, identified by Times Now as Ramanjeet Kaur, said she had thrown a brick at his bike.

"I want him to get the strictest punishment," she told the channel.

"He was asking me for a bribe. I told him to give me a slip or send the challan to my house. He said it doesn't happen like that. He kicked my scooty. He broke the meter of my scooty with a brick," she said.

Earlier in the day, Delhi police chief B.S. Bassi told the media that Chand had been suspended and an investigation has been ordered. Following outrage expressed by the public on television news channels and social media, Chand was arrested by the Delhi police on Monday afternoon and the he was discharged from service in the evening.
