THANE — Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has arrived in Bhiwandi in Maharashtra's Thane District to attend court proceedings related to a defamation case lodged against him.

"Whatever I commit to, I see it through," Gandhi said outside the court.

The Supreme Court had given him relief in terms of not being physically present in the court for the proceedings, but he decided to honour call to attend and be present in the court.

Gandhi was sued after he allegedly blamed the Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) for the 1948 assassination of Mahatma Gandhi during an election campaign speech last year.
