What seems to be the first authentic footage of the avalanche hitting the Everest base camp shortly after the earthquake on Saturday, has emerged. As you can imagine, it's terrifying. A tsunami of ice is seen descending from the great mountain .
Posted on YouTube by Jost Kobusch, a German climber, the video captures the terror of the avalanche at Mount Everest that left at least 18 people dead. The video captures the panic and terror moments before climbers find that they’re about to be hit by a wall of ice, following a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit the Himalayan nation on Saturday. Fortunately, nobody seems to be hurt at this particular basecamp.
