Simplilearn, a Bengaluru-based tech-ed company providing certification courses to professionals, announced that it has closed $15 million in Series C funding Thursday.

The Series C was led by Mayfield with participation from Kalaari Capital and Helion Venture Partners. Including this round, Simplilearn has now raised a total of $27 million in capital.

Simplilearn offers training and certification around technology and business, covering topics as varied as Cloud computing to Six Sigma. The website offers online training, in-person workshops and corporate trainings.

“Our focus as an organisation is to enable individuals in transforming their career through certification. To do this, we invest a lot on technology and content. ” said Jaideep Gerald, COO, Simplilearn, in an email interview with Huffpost India.

Simplilearn’s biggest markets are US and India, which contribute to 90 percent of the company’s revenue.

The company plans to expand its courses in the technology and social marketing categories this year, to cater to the success of e-commerce companies globally and the need for data scientists and social marketing specialists. “We believe that the demand for certified professionals in this domain is going to explode and we will be in a dominant position to leverage this.” Gerald said.

According to the company, the top e-learning courses in India are big data, PMP (Project Management Professional), analytics, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and social marketing.
