Can you hear hearts breaking across the globe? Because they are, as fans come to terms with McDreamy a.k.a Patrick Dempsey's exit from Grey's Anatomy at the end of Season 11, the actor himself is seemingly not too fussed, and says, "it was a natural progression."

Dempsey who plays Derek Shepherd on the ABC show, gets hit by a truck while trying to save a stranded family on an empty road. His last moments on the show are heart-breaking and have sealed his legacy as possibly the world's best loved and sexiest neurosurgeon for years to come.

And as women all over the world reach for tissues, they know that there can never be another McDreamy. Not just because he has those unbelievably blue-blue eyes and sexy smile. There are just some things that cannot be accomplished any other way than true McDreamy style.

Like holding a spoon.

Nodding his head. Okay, fine, it is because of those eyes.

The simple yet incredibly sensuous process of taking a bath.

Those damn blue eyes.

Cheesy pick-up lines (that still make you go weak in the knees)

Crying. (How badly do you want to hold him right now?)

Playing.

Yes. Blue eyes. It's never going to be enough.

Kissing. And of course proposing.

Fans all over the world today:
