Watch: Priyanka Chopra And Farhan Akhtar Sing Title Track From 'Dil Dhadakne Do'

The title track of Zoya Akhtar's upcoming 'Dil Dhadakne Do' was released on Thursday evening. The song, a peppy, Broadway-style rock and roll number featuring vocals by Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar, who feature prominently in the song themselves.

The track, whose video features the film's entire cast — including Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, and others — depicts them dancing in brightly-coloured sets that resemble the interiors of a cruise liner.

This is a rare instance of a duet being sung by the actors who are featured in the song's video as well, given that Bollywood usually chooses to utilise different playback singers from songs. While the practice of making actors sing their own songs was common in the '30s and '40s, it has become a rare occurrence in Hindi cinema. Several actors or actresses have sung their own songs in recent times — Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Salman Khan, for example.

However, duets featuring both male and female parts sung by the actors themselves are generally not the norm. Below are a few exceptions to this rule.
