Invites No Longer Needed To Purchase OnePlus One

Buyers looking to buy the OnePlus One smartphone no longer need an invite to do so, Chinese technology startup OnePlus announced today.

Launched as an exclusive on Amazon.in in December 2014, the phone boasts high end features like 4K video recording and a Full HD display at a mid-range price. Starting today, the the 64GB Sandstone Black and the 16GB Silk White variants are listed on Amazon.in without an invite.

Carl Pei, Co-founder and Head of Global, OnePlus, said that this was a big step for the company and they stand to learn a great deal before they launch the OnePlus 2.

“By rigorously testing and improving our logistical structure over the last one year, we are far more confident that our processes have matured enough for us to handle the increased production and after-sales support that comes along with opening up sales. It’s what we’ve been working towards, and now we’re ready.” he said in a press statement.

OnePlus is offering 50 percent off on select accessories like JBL E1+ Earphones, Flip Cover and Matte Screen Protector.

Priced at Rs 18,999 and 21,999, the OnePlus One has a 5.5-HD Full HD display, 3 GB RAM, quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and a 3100 mAh battery. The device has a 13 megapixel camera and a 5 megapixel front facing camera, and runs on Oxygen OS, based on Android 5.0.
