TalentPad Announces Online Job Fair For Techies Interested In Startup Jobs

Online recruitment portal Talentpad has announced an online job fair for software engineers and product managers.

The job fair, which starts on Monday, March 30th, will feature 300 openings from over 200 companies like InMobi, Snapdeal, Zomato and Myntra, with offers in the range of Rs 8-25 lakhs per annum.

Founded in Feb 2014, TalentPad was built around removing inefficiencies and solving the pain points for job seekers and companies on conventional job search portals. The portal reverses the job search process — a pool of candidates, curated by the site, get to choose which companies they want to be interviewed by.

TalentPad team, based out of South Delhi has three co-founders — Mayank Jain, Nikhil Vij and Raghav Jain. The company raised its first round of funding from Helion Ventures in October 2014.

“Currently we are only catering to tech talent with one to eight years of experience. The idea is to pitch one thing, be the best at it, and expand once you’ve made your mark and made customers happy. We are aspiring to be the most efficient talent marketplace in India”, said Mayank Jain, CEO and cofounder, TalentPad, speaking to HuffPost India.

“Lot of young people, especially engineering folk want to work in startups, to get a meaty role with a lot of responsibility, work on the latest technologies, and because they are charmed by startup culture. Many want to start their own company going forward.” Jain explained.

However, it takes a lot of time and effort for an engineer from a Tier 2 or 3 college to get a job in India. Most companies that are hiring can only go to so many campuses, and they tend to go to the best. “People who are not in the top three or four colleges miss out on a lot of opportunities.” Jain said.

TalentPad has already received over 3500 applications from final year engineering students, who are interested in taking up a coding job, Jain said. During the job fair, TalentPad will curate this list to 300 candidates based on pedigree and credentials. Over 200 companies can digitally access their detailed profiles and give out interview offers.

Startup jobs on offer include designations like back-end and front-end developers, data scientists, machine learning, algorithms, and full stack developer, Jain said.
