The son of Madhya Pradesh Governor, and one of the accused in the multi-crore professional exams scam, has been found dead under "mysterious circumstances". Shailesh Yadav was the son of Ram Naresh Yadav, and he was found dead in his room in Lucknow.

Initial reports suggest he died of brain haemorrhage, though the cause of it is as yet unclear.

"We have got information that Shailesh Yadav, aged about 50, died at the official residence of MP Governor Ram Naresh Yadav at Mall Avenue locality here," Gautampalli Police Station in-charge, Vidrendra Bahadur Singh told PTI.

Yadav is one of the accused in the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) or Vyapam scam. He was named in the supplementary chargesheet filed in the case, after he was accused of accepting Rs 3 lakh in cash to ensure that 10 candidates from Bhind who wanted to be contractual teachers cleared the examination.

On Monday, the Supreme Court had granted the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the case four more months to conclude the probe.

The multi-crore rupees professional examination scam, also known as 'Vyapam' scandal, involves several high-profile professionals, politicians and bureaucrats as accused.

The SIT has so far registered 55 FIRs and arrested around 1700 persons in connection with the scam.

The alleged scam involves MPPEB, which holds examinations for various posts such as teachers, medical officers, constables and forest guards.
