Why These Female Students Called Comedian Abish Mathew A 'Sexist Pig'
Abish Mathew

Comedian Abish Mathew's performance at a Delhi college recently took a turn for the worse when a group of female students allegedly walked out 15 minutes into the show, flipping Mathew the bird.

Mathew, who was part of the All India Bakchod "roast" of Bollywood stars that stirred a massive debate about right to free speech, was performing at the National Law University in Delhi as a part of their annual fest, 'Kairos'.

Scroll.com quoted Aarushi Mahajan, one of the protesters who walked out of the event as saying that "he started cracking a joke on domestic violence, when two students got up and showed him the finger while walking out. I waited for a few more minutes, but the jokes wouldn’t stop. So I decided to leave the auditorium as well.”

According to the Scroll.com article, Mathew also cracked jokes about Mayawati's complexion which allegedly made the students uncomfortable.

That's when the students went out and got placards.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the students carried placards that read, "Get out, you sexist pig."

Mumbai Mirror, however, reported that Mathew played down the incident, and said that the students "left peacefully".

HuffPost India has reached out to Mathew for a comment.
