This Hoax Story Generated A Hilarious Twitter Meme

India Today carried a story that went viral yesterday, quoting BJP MP Sadhvi Prachi saying that Vladimir Putin’s original name was Vaarahmihir Putr Singh. The article is no longer listed on their site, but a cached version of it exists on Google.

It appears that someone got mislead by a satirical piece.

While the story was pulled, the hashtag #VHPNames had already gone viral.

VHP supporters will doubtless be incensed at the unfairness of it all, but the viral meme it generated on Twitter threw up some really funny candidates.
