Commonfloor Launches Virtual Reality Headset For Real Estate Buyers

Online real estate platform Commonfloor has launched a new feature that lets customers view real estate properties virtually. Called Retina, the virtual reality experience allows buyers to view and assess builder properties using an Android smartphone and app.

Users can register on the website to get a free headset, which is based on the Google Cardboard VR specification. This inexpensive solution lets users experience virtual reality by inserting the smartphone into the cardboard frame.

The feature only works on Android phones for now, and is compatible with the following phones — Nexus 4, MotoG 2nd Gen, Samsung Galaxy 4, MotoX, One Plus and Xiaomi Mi3.

Commonfloor has released separate apps for each building project - there are apps for properties from Sobha Developers, Mantri Developers and Radiant Group on Google Play.

“Very soon we are going to have one application, which will have a list of all the projects, and the user can choose the project.” said Sumit Jain, Co-founder & CEO, CommonFloor.com speaking to Huffpost India. An iOS version of the app is in the works, but Jain did not commit to a release date.

Commonfloor's tech team has optimised their processes to integrate any builder property within six hours. “This is not an academic experiment.” said Jain.
