An image circulating on Imgur presumably showing the reception area of a Flipkart office with packages stacked in a corner that have Amazon India printed on them, has sparked a game of one-upmanship on Twitter between two of India's biggest e-commerce sites.

The photo suggests that employees of Flipkart ordered goods from their rival e-tailer. In the competitive world of e-commerce that is of course an oversight that needs a prompt and fitting response, preferably over Twitter so that the rest of the universe can join in and have their say on this very urgent matter.

The Imgur post that started it all.

Shots fired!

The Flipkart response was acerbic, to say the least.

@redditindia We recycled said packaging as our reception's dustbin.

To which Amazon India replied with no small amount of swagger.

@redditindia There is a bit of Amazon in every eCommerce company. #justsaying

How can Flipkart NOT respond to that? It did. We can expect news of their engagement any moment now.

@amazonIN@redditindia We'll drink to that. o/\o

We loved it of course.

@amazonIN@redditindia Love this! :)

Some wished this banter would never end. They wanted to involve more people.

@ankitlunia2011@Flipkart@amazonIN@redditindia Lets Add @snapdeal To It ...

Last heard, the body count was zero. Let's hope Flipkart and Amazon India got that drink.
