Following a goalless draw in the first match, the Indian women's hockey team displayed a spirited performance to defeat Spain 1-0 here Monday.

India made a promising start by giving a neck-and-neck fight to Spain. Both teams made several attempts but failed to convert their opportunities. Just before halftime, Spain earned a penalty corner but failed to capitalise on it and the score remained 0-0.

In the second half, it was India's Vandana Katariya who scored the only goal of the match in the 38th minute, giving her team the victory.

The next game will be played against Dutch club Groningsche Cricket en Hockey Club (GCHC) Feb 19. The tour is in preparation for the World League Round 2 to be held in New Delhi March 7-15.
