Amethi - A 16-year-old physically-challenged girl was today allegedly raped in the district, police said.

An FIR was lodged against the accused, Taz Mohammad, a resident of Pure Atta Agauna on the directions of Sub- Divisional Magistrate Vandita Sriwastava, SHO Mohanganj Ratan Singh said.

The victim, resident of Meteria, has been sent for medical examination, he said adding that a search is underway for the accused.
