The latest opinion poll on Delhi elections show a decisive lead for the Aam Aadmi Party, even as campaigning heats up for elections to the 70-member assembly in the National Capital.

The poll, conducted done by ABP News-Nielsen shows AAP with a 50 percent vote share, followed by BJP with 41 percent and the Congress Party with 9%.

In the last assembly elections in Delhi, a 33.1 percent vote share translated into 31 seats for the BJP, while the AAP had 29.5 percent voteshare (28 seats) and Congress garnered 24.5% share (8 seats).

Any party getting a 50% voteshare in Delhi will come to power with a simple majority.

The poll, conducted on Jan 24-25, showed that BJP’s vote share declined by 4 percentage points to 41 percent after Kiran Bedi was announced as the party's chief minister candidate.

The ABP News-Nielsen polls also showed the Kejriwal is the most popular choice to be Delhi’s next chief minister. The survey shows him garnering 51 percent of votes, followed by Kiran Bedi with 40 percent and Congress Party’s Ajay Maken with eight percent. Three-fourth of the Muslim respondents thinks that Kejriwal is the most suitable CM of Delhi.

Other polls have showed BJP and AAP to be neck and neck.

An opinion poll conducted by India TV-CVoter suggests that BJP might get 47 percent votes, followed by the AAP with 40 percent and the Congress with 10 percent. The survey also said that the BJP will get 37 seats, while AAP will get 28 seats--the same number as in the previous polls--while the Congress Party’s seats would go down from 8 to 5.

A third poll conducted by Zee News through TALEEM Research Foundation found that BJP is likely to get 37 seats while AAP will get 29 and Congress will get 4.

The survey shows that 45% of the voters think that the BJP has a good chance of forming a government after the Delhi Assembly Election 2015. 34.2% respondents think that the AAP has a good chance, whereas only 13.7% voters are of the view that the Indian National Congress (INC) might bounce back and form the government.
