New updates rolling out for the Google Search app and Google Now Launcher bring Material Design elements introduced first to Lollipop devices. The update works on androids running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and higher.

With the Google Now launcher, you can have the same look and feel of pure Android stock devices like the Nexus series. After installing the updates, you should be able to see a bunch of visual tweaks - the search bar, app drawer button and the app drawer have been whited out. The left-most home screen becomes Google Now, which provides you traffic and weather updates, birthday reminders and dining spots close to you.

The Google Now launcher also makes it easier to trigger voice input when you're on the home screen - just say "OK Google" and pair it with with this mammoth list of voice activated commands that let you do do anything, from play music, run search queries, or ask for directions.
