The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the big winner of these assembly elections as it emerged as the top seat winner in Jharkhand, narrowly short of a majority but well positioned to form the government, and swept Jammu, winning 25 seats in the J&K assembly. The People's Democratic Party, which won 28 seats in J&K, now have several options before it to form the government, which will likely happen after days of negotiations.

Here are the final results at this stage. Results for one seat in Jharkhand remains undeclared.
