A video on Facebook where a woman IAS officer lashes out against shoddy work by civic officials has gone viral after it was shared on the social networking site on Wednesday.

The woman in the video, believed to be B. Chandrakala who is District Magistrate (the chief administrative and revenue officer) of Bulandshahar in Uttar Pradesh, is seen berating officials in charge of civic projects for poor civic work and bad road material used in the area.

At some point she tells one of them to shut up.

The Facebook video already had over 700,000 views by Thursday afternoon, more than 3,000 comments and about 27,400 shares.

Three contractors, including the brother of a member of the state's ruling Samajwadi Party, were reportedly booked following Chandrakala's very public admonishment.

Known for her fiery method of handling her charge, Chandrakala had been recently shifted from Mathura to Bulandshahr as the District Magistrate.
