But for those familiar with the systematic oppression of Dalits across the country, these instances might not be as “shocking” as they might seem to the consumers of mainstream media. People were shocked, including myself: I had interacted with him in the past and found him to be charming and courteous. Yet, somewhere along the way, this accomplished man was accused, with plenty of evidence to back the allegations, of sexual harassment at the workplace.
