There are two reasons why I decided to forgo my cherished winter-morning sleep today and pen down this letter: firstly, to thank you for your endeavour, and no doubt great amount of funding, to bring football to the cricket-loving masses of this nation; secondly, to bring to your knowledge certain questions which football-loving Indian fans have on their minds.
I decided to go for the game between the Delhi Dynamos FC and Chennaiyin FC on October 8 in New Delhi to see for myself how Indian football fans are reacting to the country's newest sporting league. As I got off the metro I saw hordes of fans heading towards the stadium. There was excitement and the sound of desi vuvuzelas in the air. The massive crowd at the stadium gates was a pleasant surprise. People were checking their tickets, taking selfies and lining up to enter the stadium.

He's right; for all the infrastructural and technical problems that plague Indian football, our dismissive mindset towards the game needs to be corrected if we are to stand the remotest chance of growing; because even if the AIFF does everything in its power (far-fetched, I know) to develop the game at its end, it wouldn't matter unless we take it upon ourselves to take the game forward.
