Which South Asia do you live in? The one which offers world-class metros and malls, super-speciality hospitals, gourmet eateries and designer homes where servants make your meals, drive your car or clean your mess? Or do you live in the South Asia where sanitation, water and electricity are a luxury, where filth, ignorance and violence means death comes early and more frequently from illness, poverty and natural disasters? Statistically, the latter is more likely.
So the only fail proof plan to win Kashmir is to do the only thing Pakistan cannot do at all - proliferate prosperity on an unimaginable scale. In other words, for every dam Pakistan wants to build in Kashmir - build five, and for every school, ten. Pakistan cannot hope to keep up.
Although numerous efforts have been made by the government to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in India, there is a lack of institutional framework for the effective implementation of such reforms. According to the World Bank, India ranks 158th on "ease of starting a business" out of 189 economies. These rankings are very discouraging and mean that many bright ideas don't see the light of day.
