Getting back to the trailer, I just can't explain how excited I was while watching it and noticing the minute details that revealed important events from the season. With every passing season, the production value just keeps on getting better and the latest trailer packed with some intense scenes. Before we begin, let's take a look at the trailer once again.
The trailer begins with the Light of the Seven OST and it instantly guarantees goosebumps; we can see Sansa walking away from the Winterfell Godswood, while we hear Littlefinger giving the following advice: "Don't fight in the north, or the south. Fight every battle, everywhere, always, in your mind."
Petyr Baelish is trying his best to brainwash Sansa in the latest season, just like he tried in season 6.
1. Bran Stark and Meera Reed cross the Wall
At the end of season 6, Benjen Stark dropped Bran and Meera next to the Weirwood tree, which is near the Wall and left. It was obvious that they would cross the Wall and the trailer has shown us the scene in which this happens. However, it might be a matter of concern as Bran crossing the Wall might result in its destruction.
We then see Jon Snow beyond the Wall and then a shot from what looks like King's Landing, where the common people are cheering, while soldiers are walking past them, and we can see Lannister banners on the walls. This is followed by a scene that has been shot at Dyrholaey, Iceland. It might be Dragonstone or even the Iron Islands or some new location.
2. Jaime Lannister seems to be at Highgarden
We can see Jaime Lannister walking along a castle wall and there's a dead man lying on the floor. It's highly possible that this is Highgarden, which belongs the Tyrells. The recent video released by HBO Spain confirmed the Lannister attack on Highgarden and this scene from the trailer might be shot just after Jaime successfully captures Highgarden.
3. Daenerys pulls down Stannis's banner at Dragonstone
We know that Daenerys has reached Dragonstone and once she enters it, she sees Stannis Baratheon's banner, which she pulls down, signalling the change of ownership.
4. Jon Snow possibly refers to the fight between men and the White Walkers
While the trailer continues, we hear Jon Snow convincing someone. "For centuries our families fought together, against their common enemy. Despite their differences. Together. We need to do the same if we're gonna survive. Cause the enemy is real. "
It's possible that Jon might be speaking about an alliance between House Stark and another house but it does feel that this talk is about the War for the Dawn, where the First Men and the Children of the Forest fought against the White Walkers to end the Long Night. The part where he says that the enemy is real seems to be a strong reference about the White Walkers.
5. The Unsullied use the sewers to take Casterly Rock
Since the first trailer for season 7 came out, we've known for sure that the Unsullied attack Casterly Rock. But we didn't know how, because Casterly Rock is supposed to be impossible to capture. There were speculations that Tyrion would help Daenerys in capturing Casterly Rock as he was given charge of all the drains in Casterly Rock when he had reached adulthood. Tyrion had bragged that he helped in improving the drainage flow. So he has good knowledge about the drains and he can help people navigate them.
The trailer seems to have confirmed this, as we can see Grey Worm stealthily moving towards a hole in the rocks, which might be the sewer exit. The Unsullied might use this to get inside Casterly Rock. However, that's not the only way they try to get inside, as we have previously seen the Unsullied trying to scale the walls using long ladders but the tactic doesn't seem to work as we can see dead Unsullied soldiers who have fallen from the ladders, after being shot at by Lannister archers.
It might be possible that it's just a ruse to keep the Lannister soldiers distracted, while few Unsullied soldiers enter from the sewer and then open the doors from inside, as we can see in the photo below.
6. Daenerys and the Dothraki destroy the Lannister army
We know that there is going to be a big battle involving the Lannisters and Daenerys and her army, and Daenerys is also going to bring Drogon with her. In the trailer we see the Dothraki horde breaking through the Lannister shieldwall and there's a line of fire in the background, which indicates Drogon has already started attacking the enemy.
We also see the Lannister archers firing arrows at the enemy and this scene might happen just before the Dothraki horde breaks through their defences. We can see Jaime and Bronn behind the archers.
Later in the trailer, we see Jaime Lannister riding his horse through a field of fire, with evidence of destruction and dead bodies lying everywhere. He's charging with a lance and it's highly possible that he's going towards the Dothraki—after all, it will be completely foolish to charge towards Daenerys and her Drogon with just a lance in his hand.
7. Drogon has become really really enormous
The above photo shows us the Dothraki charging against the Lannisters and Drogon is accompanying them but many people might not notice that Daenerys is sitting on Drogon but he has grown so huge now, it's really difficult to spot her on his back.
8. Bran Stark reaches Winterfell and spies on the Night King with the help of Ravens
In the scene, we see lot of Ravens flying over the Wights and we then see a close-up shot of Raven and Bran "wargs" into it to take a look at what's happening beyond the Wall. However, the Night King senses that and immediately looks at the warged Raven and Bran seems to snap out of his vision.
We then see him sitting on a wheelchair, which looks similar to the one that Doran Martell had and he's in the Winterfell Godswood, next to MaesterWolkan.
9. Euron Greyjoy attacks Theon and Yara's ship using flame throwers
We have seen shots from the scene where Euron attacks Theon and Yara before and this trailer gives us a better idea about what might happen. Euron wreaks havoc by using flame throwers to set Theon and Yara's ship on fire, before going on a murderous rampage.
10. Beric Dondarrion and the Brotherhood Without Banners go beyond the Wall with Jon Snow
One of the most awesome moments from the trailer involves Beric Dondarrion, when his sword lights up and he looks like a Westerosi Jedi warrior.
However, things don't look good for Beric as he has travelled North of the Wall with Jon Snow, along with the Brotherhood Without Banners, Tormund and others and now they are fighting for their life as they are surrounded from all sides by Wights! You will notice Lord Beric's flaming sword next to Jon Snow.
11. Euron Greyjoy brings his fleet to King's Landing
Now that Daenerys has made an alliance with Yara, Euron Greyjoy needs a partner and he has his eyes on Cersei, as we can see a huge Greyjoy fleet approaching King's Landing. The fleet is led bySilence, which is Euron's ship.
12. Cleganebowl!! (Hopefully)
In this scene we see the Hound ready for some action but the interesting thing to notice is that he's standing at the Italica, which was used for filming the Dragonpit scenes and we can see a Lannister soldier in the background. This scene has just raised our expectations as it's highly possible that we might get to see the Clegane brothers going against each other.
13. Jon Snow fights against another White Walker
This is an exciting scene as we get to see another fight between Jon Snow and a White Walker. Last time Jon Snow fought against a White Walker, we came to know that Valyrian Steel can kill them. Hopefully this fight will take Jon Snow's White Walker kill tally to 2.
However, while this might be from a completely different scene, there's a small chance that Jon Snow gets injured while fighting and then somehow manages to escape on a horse.
14. Daenerys might come to help Jon Snow and friends
We have seen Jon Snow and others surrounded from Wights from all sides and looking at their numbers, it seems impossible that they might escape on their own. In the above photo we can see Jon Snow standing in front of some Wights and there's a line of fire in the background. This does seem like the work of a dragon.
15. Jon Snow and Davos Seaworth are at Dragonstone
Jon Snow and Ser Davos are seen standing at some place which seems to be warm and if you look carefully, you will see the stairs at Dragonstone, which we have seen in the previous trailer.
16. Cersei is standing next to a Dragon skull
While watching the trailer, it looks like any other normal scene but when you increase the brightness, you will notice that Cersei isn't in her room but in some sort of dungeon and behind her is something that looks like a monstrous skull. It might just belong to Balerion the Black Dread, who was Aegon Targaryen's dragon. The set visit by the Toronto Sun had revealed details about few scenes from season 7 and here's a quote from the article, "...we watched a small team of workers sculpting a massive dragon skull out of a Mack truck-sized piece of what looked like polystyrene foam."
17. Sansa quotes Ned Stark
At the end of the trailer we hear Sansa saying the following: "When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."
This is one of the most popular quotes from Game of Thrones and fans know that it comes from Ned Stark. So it feels reassuring when Sansa says it as there were speculations that Littlefinger might turn her against Jon Snow. Sansa might be saying this to Littlefinger to let him know that she won't fall in his trap.
