'Udta Punjab' Hits A High With Its Treatment Of The Punjab Drug Crisis

Udta Punjab is an eye-opening account of how the ongoing drug crisis in Punjab is consuming the mind, body and soul of the state's youth. It's enough to make your blood boil and your eyes wet. The movie presents a kaleidoscopic account of how drugs enter the border state via Pakistan. How the ruthless drug lords operate under the aegis of the state machinery. How easily youngsters get sucked into the maw of darkness, choosing to live in drug-induced utopias rather than face reality.

'Ki & Ka': A Rom-Com With Plenty Of Food For Thought

The movie has its share of flaws, but the execution more or less compensates for it. While the movie's third act appears to be a bit rushed up, the overall pacing appears to be fine. Balki, for a change, tries to keep things simple and it seems to have worked well for him. The cinematic flair seen in Balki's earlier films is definitely missing here but thankfully there is no dearth of entertainment.
