Snapchat is gardening every flower that it could on the social media as the social video & image app is doing extraordinarily lucrative and productive. From its initial release in September 2011, and available in 20 languages today, Snapchat is holding the crown and seized the attention among the youths. A rival to Instagram, it is attracting more and more users everyday because of the incredible features of the mobile application. Snapchat is an image messaging and multimedia mobile application created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown. As per the sources, in May 2016, the company leased 79,000 square feet of office space available at the Santa Monica airport to be used for at least five years. Also in May 2016, Snapchat raised $ 1.81 billion in equity offering, suggesting strong investor interest in the company. By May 31, 2016, the ephemeral messaging app had achieved almost 10 million daily active users in the United Kingdom.

Now that Instagram almost failed to compete the giant Snapchat, it’s time for the other tech giant who will give it a try to invade the market. Well, it appears that Facebook and Instagram may not be the only companies wishing to imitate Snapchat’s success in social video. Obviously, the huge success of Snapchat could have inspired Apple to develop a social video app but who knows, then.

According to the latest reports, Apple is working on a video sharing and editing app that will allow iPhone users to record videos, apply filters and drawings, and share them with their contacts. Well, the rumors are so that the software is designed for one hand and the other hand will be to shoot videos; then do the necessary editing and uploading in less than dozen seconds.

Apple told Bloomberg that at least one of the prototype blueprints for the app would allow users to shoot video in an Instagram-like square format. This video sharing app is in the early stages of development, but Apple is accountably aiming for a 2017 release. It is also said that if the prospected project doesn’t meet the company’s anticipations within that deadline, it could be killed off.

Back in 2010, Apple has failed to launch iTunes-focused social network called Ping. However, as iPhone sales slow, the company is increasingly looking to develop software and services that will appeal to younger users. The app is reportedly being developed in the same Apple department that created Final cut Pro and iMovie software. And Joe Weil, the former president of a New York-based video sharing firm, was specifically hired to oversee and lead the vision of this project.

Nevertheless, users signaled many similarities between Instagram Stories and Snapchat. Facebook has also launched a new mobile app called Lifestage, that lets teenagers create video profiles and share snippets with their friends. This latest development is part of Apple’s newly directed attention to commingle its products with social media applications, which is in ‘response to the success of social media-focused companies like Facebook. The idea behind this new focus is to give the generation of Snapchatters simple tools to edit and share videos, the people explained, who asked not to be identified because the plans are private.

We will have to wait and watch what happens to the socio-image-video application as the rivalries seem tough from present condition; Snapchat sits on the throne but there are business tycoons who is following the current trend and drawing towards the same.
