Millennials, the parents of those millennials, and perhaps even the grandparents of those millennials likely remember Disney’s 1991 animated blockbuster “Beauty and the Beast.” It’s a film that probably holds a special place in your heart or at least occupied a chunk of your childhood.

And while the tale is old as time, it’s been 25 years since the film was released and it still has a little bit of magic left in it. On Sunday, Angela Lansbury, who lent her voice to the character of Mrs. Potts in the movie, surprised audiences at the film’s anniversary screening at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall when she sang the film’s title song for the first time in more than 20 years.

Lansbury seemed to succeed in making everyone nostalgic for a simpler time, and finished her performance with Mrs. Potts’ memorable lines to her son, Chip.

“Run along and get in the cupboard, Chip. It’s time you was in bed. Night-night,” she said as the audience broke out in applause.
