I was trained as a journalist and toiled nights in front of a computer in the newsroom of two dailies till I made a choice to be a stay at home mom away from datelines and deadlines. From writing for a living to living to write has been quite a journey. Now, I give much more importance to my other roles an individual - as a foodie who loves to sample new dishes, a baker who loves to experiment with the dough, a voracious reader, a passionate traveller who wants to see more and a writer who pens down her thoughts in verse and prose.

Can We Use Sanitary Pads As Tools Of Empowerment In India?

Some students of Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University took up the #padsagainstsexism campaign with gusto and pasted sanitary napkins featuring feminist messages across the campus in an attempt to promote a safe environment for women. The sanitary pads were hurriedly pulled down by the authorities. The Indian sensibility is not yet sensitised for such campaigns, you see.

When Holi Lost Its Colour

Growing up, the one festival that excited me more than any other was the spring festival of colours -- Holi. And this happiness continued in a cycle through my growing up years, adolescence, adulthood and as a parent. All was fine until we moved again to a different city. This time to the southern part of the country.
