The PM's speech involved a statistics-backed exposition of the achievements of India, a call to eliminate discrimination and a strong reply to Pakistan. While citizens need to cooperate with the government to tackle air pollution, this particular move is riddled with loopholes. The Delhi Government seriously needs to recheck every point and most importantly, build infrastructure which would help us as well as the government to stick to their decision for a long time. The citizens are sceptical about how well the current "solution" will work.
I have seen far too many people stay silent when it was important to speak up. Perhaps it has something to do with our cultural conditioning - we've been trained to defer to our parents and to societal norms for everything from our stream of study to choice of marriage partner. Does it make us all conditioned to ignore our own inner voices? I would say, yes! And this is causing so much damage, not only to ourselves but to the country as a whole.
