Rishi Piparaiya is a former international banker and senior marketing and sales executive whose current passion is providing mentorship and resources to start-up and growth companies. An avid writer, he is the author of Aisle Be Damned, a national bestselling humor book on the nuances of air travel. He is also a frequent columnist for leading publications.
Rishi was the Director of Marketing and Direct Sales at Aviva India where he was responsible for driving marketing and brand strategy, online and direct sales, product development, digital initiatives, analytics and training. Prior to that, he was leading Bancassurance where he was responsible for driving sales through bank partners and alliances and built an industry leading franchise. Prior to joining Aviva, Rishi was a Senior Vice President at Citi heading the bank’s Insurance business and established it as a top 5 bancassurer in the country. Under his aegis, Citi India was also recognized as the best performing Insurance franchise and most innovative Insurance franchise across Citi Asia-Pacific. He also headed the product & marketing groups for all Citi India liabilities products and all customer segments including Citigold wealth management. He has had stints as the Strategy Head of Consumer Banking at Citi India, as part of the International Strategy team at Citigroup New York, with Banco Santander Central Hispano in Madrid and as a dotcom entrepreneur.
Rishi has an MBA from Cornell University, undergraduate education in Economics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester and did his schooling at the Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai.
